What is Bow Tag?

Bow Tag is played similar to dodgeball with our bows and foam-tipped arrows. This exciting, action-packed game offers the ultimate family-friendly experience that engages everyone.

How long is each session?

Sessions vary depending on the package or game play that has been booked. Safety Briefing is included in all the sessions. For example a 60min session will include a 10-15min of briefing, basic archery training and practise time, followed by 45 mins of actual game play. If your group are regulars, this safety briefing will be much shorter.

How long do the games last?

Each round of Bow Tag lasts between 30 sec - 2 minutes. You are expected to play many rounds during your session!

Is this sport indoor or outdoor?

You can play Bow Tag both indoor and outdoors.

Do we need to find our own location?

Bow Tag has two venues that we currently utilize in Hamilton and Te Awamutu, but if you have your own indoor venue, Bow Tag will be more than happy to carry out the session at your venue.

Is there a minimum / maximum number of players?

There is no minimum amount of players required on the field, but the maximum players on the field at once is 12 (6 a side). If you have a larger group, there will be rotational rounds to ensure everybody has a good time. The Full Session Fee still apply's even if you do not have the maximum numbers.

What should I wear?

A pair of running shoes is required to participate in Bow Tag. We also suggest wearing comfortable clothing such as t-shirt and shorts to avoid injury. We also recommend removing all jewellery prior to gameplay.

Is there an age restriction to this sport?

The minimum age requirement is 7 years old to participate. But we recommend 10 years and above for an even better experience.

Is Bow Tag safe to play?

Absolutely! Other than the arrows which are "Foam Tipped", this sport is a non-contact sport and each team will respectively stay in their designated area. Our operators will ensure that all health and safety measures are carried through so that you and your friends can enjoy carefree

Does it hurt if I get hit by an arrow?

Players experience virtually no pain when “tagged” by the arrow. The impact of the foam-tipped arrow is best described as being hit by a very low-speed tennis ball.

I don't have any archery or Bow Tag experience?

Prior to the actual gameplay, everyone will be provided with basic Bow Tag training and sufficient time to practice shooting. No archery experience is required to play.

What private events do you cater for?

Whether you are thinking about birthday parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate events or any special occasions, we can accommodate them all. Please contact us to find out more about these packages at info@bowtag.nz

How do we book a session?

Simple! Just click on the book now button or send an email to our Bow Tag Team and we can get a session booked! Once you have followed instructions in making the payment, your time session will be confirmed. You and your friends will just need to show up!

Can we cancel our booking?

There is no cancellations of the booking once the session has been paid. If, on the day, weather forbids the session continuing, then the session will be postponed to another date suitable. If another date cannot be reached, a full refund will be processed.
